PALAPAS VENTANA is owned by a spearfisherman...so we know how to take care of SPEAROS...We are the home of two prestigous tournaments - The La Paz World Cup organized by USA Champ Dennis Haussler
and The RED SEA BAJA SHOOTOUT organized by Kyle Nakamoto of Hawaii Skin Diver TV. Both these tournaments raise funds for our local schools in La Ventana and El Sargento.

PALAPAS VENTANA is home to 2 world records also -- Womens Amberjack set by Julie Riffe, and Mens Roosterfish set by Tim Hatler.. But most important of all is Palapas Ventana is home for you and your small group of spearo buddies to come and have a blast on a custom trip!!. We now spear both sides of the Baja and offer short or long trips to Mag Bay and Thetis Banks. Custom itineraries always available!!

If spear fishing is your sport, you won’t find a better place than the Isla Cerralvo area near La Paz. In April – November the action heats up with blue water species entering the Sea of Cortez “Fish Trap”. Palapas Ventana can get you up close and personal to Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Billfish, Dorado, Yellowtail, Roosterfish, Amberjack, Cabrilla, Pargo and more. Jump in our Pangas equipped with shade tops and zip across the channel to world class spear fishing only 8.5 miles away. All of our Captains have been fishing the area their whole lives and understand the needs of Spearos....chumming, flashers, and more.These guys work hard ofr you and want you to succede..Every summer we set 8 FADS out to congregate fish. Bring your biggest guns! - one for the Blue Water and one for the reef with spare shafts and tips...

Everyday our local captains will fillet and freeze your fish while you enjoy happy hour at our bar, and then keep out what you want that night for dinner or sashimi. Keep your floats, lines and weights in the boat for the next day, rinse your gun and leave it in the locked beach storage, and take your wetsuit off right in your shower when you return- life is easy here!!

Come stay in our comfortable beachside bungalows and indulge in your Blue Water addiction. Bring your girlfriend, wife, or family as Palapas Ventana offers adventure for everyone! April - Cerralvo has yellowtail, pargo, cabrilla - 2-3 days a week are too windy to dive, pacific side is windy

May - Cerralvo has amberjack start, pargo, cabrilla, billfish - pacific side is windy

June - Cerralvo has AJ, Wahoo, billfish, pargo, cabrilla - pacific side is windy

July - Cerralvo has Dorado, AJ, Wahoo, billfish, pargo, cabrilla - pacific side is windy
