Educational Programs

Bring your group of up to 15 for the educational experience of a lifetime.  We blend the power of experiencing raw nature with an introduction to Mexican culture and community to give you 7 days your group will never forget.  We can customize program content for all ages.  Choose from two great trips or call Tim to customize your own!!

“La Isla, La Vida” – available from April – November
$659 (US) per student with two adult chaperones free

Itinerary:
Day 1
Arrive in La Paz for welcome lunch then head to Palapas Ventana.  Move in to casitas and enjoy snorkeling, kayaking or sailing on our beach.  After dinner our instructor teaches “Spanish for the panga” to prepare you for your boat trips.

Day 2              
We head to Cerralvo  in 2 pangas for a full day of SCUBA, snorkeling, and hiking on this pristine island. After dinner a night snorkel on the Palapas Ventana reef highlights our nocturnal marine creatures.

Day 3             
Another full day at Cerralvo Island. Dive new spots and explore blue water for dolphins, whales, billfish, turtles, mantas, and whalesharks.  After dinner we are treated to a lecture on sharks and rays from a La Paz professor.

Day 4             
Kayaking excursion to Pta Gorda for snorkeling, picnicking, and time to explore the hot springs!  Then its off to cooking class where we will prepare chile rellenos and 3 types of salsas and have a feast!

Day 5 
Another full day at Cerralvo Island. Dive new spots and explore blue water for dolphins, whales, billfish, turtles, mantas, and whalesharks. Collect specimens for a touch tank presentation to local students After dinner we watch an underwater slideshow to practice identifying all that we have learned and spend time in the Palapas Ventana library researching animals for presentations.

Day 6             
The students from our local elementary school visit Palapas Ventana to learn from your group about fish and invertebrates that you have seen, studied, and collected.  This is an incredible experience of cross cultural communication and proves to be the highlight of your trip.  Dinner and ranchero guitar at Juaquins restaurant followed by the closing campfire.

Day 7             
Final snorkel, kayak and goodbyes.  Come back soon!!

“Whale Discovery Fiesta” – available from December – March
$720 (US) per student with two adult chaperones free

Itinerary:
Day 1

Day 2              
We head to Cerralvo Island or our local coast in 2 pangas for a full day of SCUBA, snorkeling, and hiking. Then its off to cooking class where we will prepare chile rellenos and 3 types of salsas and have a fiesta! Lots of spanish practice.         

Day 3             
Kayak or snorkel in the morning then its off to Magdalena Bay on the Pacific Coast where we will tour a marine research station and spend the night.

Day 4             
Whale watching in Mag Bay – One of the only places in the world where you can get this up close and personal with grey whales!

Day 5 
Another full day at Cerralvo Island or our local coast. Dive new spots and explore blue water for dolphins and whales After dinner we watch an underwater slideshow to practice identifying all that we have learned and spend time in the Palapas Ventana library researching animals for presentations.

Day 6             
Embark on a five and a half hour hike to the sierras behind El Sargento to see birds, learn 20 native plants, and see an Indian rock art site that few others have..  Dinner and ranchero guitar at Juaquins restaurant followed by the closing campfire.

Day 7
