Maintenance Manager – Palapas Ventana

Palapas Ventana is looking for your talent. We are an ocean adventure resort on La Ventana Bay in the Sea of Cortez, Baja California Sur, Mexico—just 35 minutes southeast of La Paz between La Ventana and El Sargento. We are a family-run property known for custom service, small-town charm, and world-class water sports.

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance for our casitas, restaurant, fleet of pangas, vehicles, and heavy equipment. You will lead the maintenance team, coordinate daily priorities, and ensure the guest experience runs smoothly. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the maintenance team.
  • Conduct reviews; hire, discipline, and enforce company standards.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance of boats, vehicles, casitas, restaurant, and grounds.
  • Coordinate daily with the General Manager and ownership.
  • Maintain organized checklists, logs, and inventory systems in Google Drive.
  • Oversee La Paz supply runs and seasonal inventory planning.
  • Execute hurricane preparation plans.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a maintenance supervisor or similar leadership role.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical, plumbing basics, fiberglass, pumps, vehicle service, and boat systems.
  • Experience launching and receiving boats.
  • Ability to track 100-hour boat service intervals and log all maintenance.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (backhoe/retro).
  • Strong organization and leadership skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $1,600 USD per month + tips (average ~$300/month).
